K and C’s top ten Favourite Adventures of Sir Lancelot episodes
7. Lancelot’s Banishment.
“Lancelot you go too far!” King Arthur.
“And you my King, not far enough!” Lancelot.
Chosen because we love Lancelot’s anger in this one and it’s nice to have a bit of a serious type episode. Lancelot is banished by the King over a disagreement involving King Marhaus and Lancelot is furious at his actions. He attempts to prove that he is right.
The best part for us is Lancelot’s relationship with Lady Angela. There’s a real chemistry between them but she is torn between her loyalty towards her brother, and Lancelot. Angela is a likable character and can put Lancelot in his place, she knows her own mind and does not want to go against her brother if she isn’t entirely certain of his mis-doings. Also that harp player that keeps singing the warning messages about Lancelot captured in the dungeon, that makes us laugh every time, because his rhymes are just not subtle and how did anyone even think it could be an actual song?
Favourite scene: Lancelot all grumpy in prison and then he suddenly sees Lady Angela and his face lights up with a half smile and wide eyes. He goes all dopey. Plus it looks especially lovely because the lighting in this episode is stunning.
